Céline and her husband, Daniel were biking in the countryside of central Brittany, France when they heard a loud shrieking noise coming from the side of the road. The area was all forest with no homes in sight. They stopped to investigate and found a scared calico kitten meowing for help.

“At first, we thought it was some kind of bird so we stopped and tried to see where the noise was coming from. And there she was, a frightened little kitten, crying,” Céline told Love Meow.

Initially, the kitten was unsure of the couple and would not allow them to touch her. However, after Céline talked softly and crouched down, the kitten emerged from the ferns. The only thing the kitten wanted was to cuddle in the arms of her rescuers.

“She would not leave me. She kept climbing on me (with her claws) and crying,” Céline said. “At that point, we knew we had to try to get her back home.”

With no way to safely transport the kitten back to their home, they placed her back in her hiding spot in the ferns and sped home on their bikes. They promised the kitten that they would return with their car to rescue her, and that is what they did.

“As soon as I got out of the car and called her, she got out of her hiding spot in the ferns and came running towards me,” Céline recalls.

The couple named her Mini Kitty. She showed her gratitude through cuddling and a loving grooming session for Daniel. She ate until she was full and slept peacefully, now that she was in a loving home. She loves and cuddles with everyone she meets, including her canine sibling.

“She is a lovely cat, very friendly and playful. As soon as she hears us getting up, she runs up the stairs to greet us by purring and head butting us,” states Céline.

Fast forward a year, and Mini Kitty is not so mini anymore. Instead she has grown into a loving cat that still loves to cuddle. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t show her family how much she appreciates them rescuing her from the forest.
