Mockingjay, the stray puppy, was starving. She was only 8-weeks old and was desperate for food. She found a dying campfire with some chicken bones in the smoldering pile, she tried to pull the bones out and ended up getting seriously burned. The injured pup was taken to the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand and treated for her injuries.

The Soi Dog Foundation is based out of Thailand and was established in 2003 out of an increasing need to help homeless and neglected animals in that country. Many animals are treated and released, while others are found loving homes. Mockingjay suffered burns on her face, paws, and legs – she was in tremendous pain.
