Girls of all ages (and species) like to be called pretty. However, the way one New York shelter dog responds will melt your heart.

Ivory is a one-year-old pit bull mix that is looking for a loving home with older children or with her being the only child. She is as sweet as she looks and has been patiently waiting for someone to adopt her at Animal Care Centers of NYC.

According to her bio, she loves to go for walks but will need slow introductions to new places and people. “This is my favorite little lady,” shared one staff member. “She soaks up my compliments before promptly laying all her weight on me for some good thorough pets. She loves to wiggle dance with you as she wags her tail with such velocity she could fly.”

But that’s not all.

A shelter volunteer was visiting with Ivory when she captured her doing the most adorable thing. Every time she called her pretty, she would smile. The shelter shared the video on TikTok, and it is sure to lead to a forever home.

Another volunteer said she is just like Ivory soap – safe and gentle.
