The Border Collie breed is known as one of the smartest in the world. And that’s just one of the reasons they are often the perfect fit as sheep-herding dogs. Their work ethic and agility also factor in with their sheepdog training, and they get started at a very young age!

In the video below, the month-old Border Collie puppies meet sheep for the very first time. And let’s just say there are mixed results! But that’s okay, this is only the first meeting. And some dogs just aren’t cut out to be sheep-herders.

Under the watchful eye of mama, the adorable puppies come face to face with the sheep as their training begins! And there’s one particular pup who seems as if he’s already a step ahead of the others. 🙂
