Mishka, the Karelian bear dog, is a wildlife service dog who is specially trained to help recondition habituated bears. He does this by scaring bears who have become too reliant on human settlements for food. It’s a somewhat harsh lesson, but a necessary one.

Despite having to be menacing during work hours, Mishka is a gentle soul. So when a tiny orphaned fawn mistook him for a parent, he took his role very seriously.
