Puppy found trapped under traffic cone is named Connie after being rescued by workmen
Staff at Battersea Dogs Home have given the Shih Tzu puppy an appropriate name after she was found whimpering with no access to food or water in a garage yard
Cone alone: Connie the Shih Tzu puppy which was trapped under a traffic cone in a garage yard and was saved by workmen
A tiny puppy was rescued after workmen who found her whimpering while trapped under a traffic cone.
The Shih Tzu was found in a space the size of a football with no access to food or water as temperatures soared in London over the weekend.
The pup, since named Connie, was apparently abandoned in a garage yard in north west London before being taken to the Battersea Dogs Home in Old Windsor, Berkshire.
Centre manager Kaye Mughal said: “It’s such an unusual and sad story that hopefully has a positive ending for Connie.
“She’s a gorgeous dog and we know someone will come along soon and give her the home she deserves.
“Shih Tzu’s are desirable and expensive breeds, so it’s hard for us to understand why someone would abandon a puppy under these circumstances and not take Connie to a local rescue centre.
“She’s been through so much for a young pup, but now her luck is turning around here at Battersea.”
