If there is one thing we know about dogs, it’s the fact that we love it when they go places with us. It doesn’t matter if we are going around the block or across the country, having our dog by our side is the only way to travel.

For some people, a quick ride in the car is about as far as they will venture with their, pooch but for others, they may reach for the stars.

That is the case with a man from Calgary named Donny Marchuk. He has always enjoyed hiking and running with his golden retriever, Sully.

Unfortunately, Sully has been slowing down in his old age. He is now 14 1/2, which is a tribute to how well he has been cared for during his long life. Marchuk didn’t want their adventures to end, just because his furry friend was reaching his golden years so he created “Sully’s adventure chariot” out of a stroller used by children.

He had borrowed the stroller from a friend but it has become much more than a simple device. Using a ski attachment allows Sully to accompany his owner on Mountain adventures and long walks through the hills.

Of course, they don’t need to reach the end of the earth to enjoy time together. Any time he is able to go for a walk with Sully is time well spent together.

It’s interesting that it isn’t only Marchuk and Sully that enjoy the customized walking contraption. Anyone who sees them together seems to have an instant smile on their face.

In the video below, he said: “Rarely does a person go by without stopping and wanting to talk and smiling. And it kind of warms our hearts knowing that we put a smile on their face as well.”

When you get right down to it, our dogs mean everything to us. We want to do what we can with them, and by getting a little creative, sometimes we can push the limits of both of our abilities.
