Over 1,000 Stray Dogs Live With These Elderly Women…The Reason Why Is Amazing
Over the past 6 years, 5 amazing women in the Shaanxi Province of China have saved the lives of more than 1,000 stray dogs. Every morning, the women, all of whom are in their 60s and 70s, wake up at 4:00 a.m. to distribute nearly 900 pounds of puppy chow to their grateful pooches.
The shelter was established in 2009 by founder Wang Yanfang after she observed so many strays being captured by the local regulators.
Each of the women volunteers her time to help out. The shelter relies solely on donations.
The dogs aren’t always great at showing their gratitude; Yanfang admits to several biting incidents.
But that doesn’t stop these incredible ladies from offering help to any dog in need.
They currently house around 1,300 dogs who would otherwise be taken in and euthanized. These women and their cause are truly inspiring.
