Homeless Dogs In Ukraine Form A Line To Eat
We can learn so much from dogs.
Countless Ukrainian dogs have lost their family, home, and are struggling to find food, but they haven’t lost their compassion for their fellow canines.
Liberated areas of Ukraine are in desperate need of food for both people and pets. World Central Kitchen has been providing meals for people and pets of Ukraine since the war began. They continue to help those in need and recently installed a feeding station for homeless pets in Kramatorsk.
How the dogs responded shocked and delighted Nate Mook, former CEO of WCK, who took part in the project. Instead of fighting, the hungry dogs formed a line and patiently waited their turn to eat.
I’ve never seen anything like this. Yesterday we installed a displaced pet feeding station in Kramatorsk (with your support!). This morning, the Ukrainian dogs waited in line to eat. 🇺🇦🐕 pic.twitter.com/5aEDCvUE2n

Mook tweeted, “I’ve never seen anything like this. Yesterday we installed a displaced pet feeding station in Kramatorsk (with your support!). This morning, the Ukrainian dogs waited in line to eat.”
A Ukrainian commented, “I’m from Ukraine. And I’m not surprised. I observed how dogs cross the road. They go to the pedestrian crossing and wait for the green signal for pedestrians. Even if there are no people at the crossing. And we are very grateful to you for taking care of our animal friends.”
Another wrote, “Something about this just really made me smile even in the face of darkness. Kindness, sharing, and cooperation with one another is important in these times. These Ukrainian dogs are the perfect metaphor for the spirit of the Ukrainian people.”
There is still a great need for pet food as Mook has seen firsthand. He has personally delivered hundreds of pounds of pet food to animal shelters, rescues, and homes in Ukraine.
Food need is huge in liberated areas, but also for vets & evacuating pets from the frontline. Volunteers are risking their lives rescuing cats & dogs. So we’re going to establish a fundraiser to help cover costs. In the meantime, I setup a PayPal link: https://t.co/bJd3nMq8ya 👇 pic.twitter.com/x0r1xSdyIf

Dogs are not the only one benefiting from the new feed station. Mook shared a photo of a cat by it and wrote, “All the animals eat!”
