Four Puppies Found In Zipped Suitcase Along North Carolina Highway
Good Samaritans were traveling along a busy highway in North Carolina when they spotted a suitcase on the side of the road. They immediately pulled over when they saw it move.
They unzipped the suitcase and were shocked to find four puppies inside – who were thankfully still alive.
The puppies were rushed to Guilford County Animal Services. The shelter posted, “Shout out to all the Good Samaritans who take the time to help animals in need. These four puppies were found in this suitcase on the side of a road, with the case zippered except for one small part.”
The medial team examined the puppies who are “doing well, but very under-socialized”, so the shelter has decided to place them in foster-to-adopt homes only. “They will require special attention and affection,” shared staff.
The 10-week-old puppies are all female and believed to be Labrador/pit bull mixes. The shelter decided to name them “luggage names” according to Miami Herald. The puppies are named Tumi, Samsonite, Stowaway, and Carion.
Anyone interested in fostering the puppies are asked to keep an eye on the shelter’s Facebook page and website for more details on when they will be available.
The rescue story has been seen by people across the country who cannot believe someone could be so cruel. One person commented, “I don’t understand how anyone could do this. Glad they are safe now.” Another said, “There are awful people in this world, but there are great people also.”
The shelter thanked the kindhearted and observant people who stopped to help. “Thank you Good Sam’s for saving four lives today!”
