We had lost our beloved dog two months before and I was just starting to think about rescuing again, but I wasn’t sure if we were ready. One February day in 2010, fate took a hand. I stopped by PetSmart and saw a dog rescue holding an adoption event. I approached their table to look at their information and suddenly felt a nose goose me from behind, followed by a lick on the back of my leg. I turned and looked at this dog with her big eyes and knew she would be joining our family.
As it turned out, she was part of a bonded pair and both she and her sister needed a home. This is how Hope and Faith became a part of our lives. Hope and Faith were found wandering the streets and taken to animal control. They were hungry and had multiple medical challenges. Houndhaven rescued them and immediately took them to the vet where they received the care they needed.
Although we lost Hope two years ago, we are grateful to Houndhaven for the gift of Faith every day. I’m happy to say that a year and a half ago, Faith gained a new friend named Bella that we also adopted from Houndhaven!
