A TikTok user named @jimjimmie posted the video in December. It showcases a forlorn-looking dog sitting in the pouring rain in front of a store in Sembilan, Malaysia.

It’s clear the dog was waiting for someone. Despite Jim’s attempts to lure the dog, she remained at the same spot. As per his narration, the dog had been loyally stationed outside the same store for four days.

The dog graciously accepted the food offered in the video but seemed determined to stay put until her owner returned.

Though the sight is heartbreaking, it ends on a joyous note.

The video going viral led to a happy reunion, according to Malaysian news source SAYS. The dog, named Bairava, had been missing for eight months when her owner, Vaani, stumbled upon the video online.

Vaani immediately went to the spot where Bairava had been patiently waiting, leading to a touching reunion. “I walked there and called her name… We were all crying and cuddling (our dog),” Vaani told SAYS.

Vaani, 40, had rescued Bairava as a stray puppy five years ago. Bairava went missing while Vaani was recovering from an illness.

Rain or shine, the dog waited at the same spot for her owner to show up.
