Denver Man Overjoyed After Emotional Reunion with Missing Support Dog

After months of posting on social media and passing out flyers throughout the area of Five Points, Colorado, CJ Ortega has finally been reunited with his two-year-old Boston terrier.

According to KdvrNews, Ortega has been reunited with his beloved emotional support dog, Twyla, who went missing for nearly three months. The heartwarming story highlights the profound bond between humans and their furry companions; especially those who provide crucial emotional support.

Twyla, a two-year-old Boston terrier, vanished on Thanksgiving Eve, leaving Ortega devastated. He described her as more than just a pet, but his “companion, my best friend, the love of my life.” Twyla played a vital role in helping Ortega cope with severe anxiety and depression following a traumatic car accident.

Ortega launched a tireless search, plastering posters, posting on social media, and contacting animal shelters in a desperate attempt to find Twyla. He even turned to online communities dedicated to finding lost pets, emphasizing her status as an emotional support animal.

His efforts, coupled with a stroke of luck, finally paid off. A family spotted Twyla wandering the streets and, thanks to her microchip, were able to contact Ortega. The emotional reunion, captured on video, shows Ortega overwhelmed with joy as he embraces Twyla, tears streaming down his face.

It’s like a dream. I don’t know what I would have done without her.

This story serves as a powerful reminder of the irreplaceable role pets play in our lives, especially for those who depend on them for emotional support. It also highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership, including microchipping and keeping identification tags up-to-date.
