Hello there, prospective forever family! My name is Johnny, a two-year-old black Labrador retriever who has been neutered. I was transferred to Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue in central Arizona from a smaller rescue organization.

A San Francisco family had adopted Jimbo, a 3-year-old Dachshund mix, and provided him with all the love he needed. Jimbo was a happy pup who went on various trips with his family, even when they moved to Louisiana.

I’m Ruby, but I go by the name Remi. I am a sweet, smart, and fun 8-year-old chocolate Lab girl. My former mom has described my personality as “delightful” and that I’m a devoted and loyal companion to my human.

In 2008, a flea-ridden, muddy, matted “fluffy” pup was being honked at by a truck in the street. I got the little hot mess to follow me and my 10-year-old Jack Russell home, where I offered her food and water.

Mom, sometimes called Big Mom due to her 85-pound frame, is aptly named. She’s sweet, a calming presence, and always there with a little snuggle. Her son, with whom she was rescued, found a home some time ago. She’s still waiting, after two long years.

Staff members at Iberville Parish Animal Shelter arrived one cold, misty morning to find three hairless puppies shivering in a milk crate in an outdoor pen. The 10-week-old puppies were cold, afraid, and in need of medical attention.

Abandoned in her carrier, a small animal waited anxiously for someone to find her. The sun had set, the temperature was dropping, and the falling snow was slowly collecting in a mound on top of her makeshift home.

Mitch arrived as an emaciated stray dog seven years ago at Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter in Jackson County, North Carolina. They never gave up hope that one day he would find a loving home.
