Brave Good Samaritan Rescues Injured German Shepherd on Busy I-94 Highway
In the Detroit area, westbound I-94 motorists slowed down to help save an injured German shepherd running in the middle of the bustling highway.
WXYZ Detroit reports that Good Samaritan, Debbie Allen, was on her way to work when she saw the limping dog on the roadway and immediately feared for its safety. Debbie stopped her vehicle, got out, and managed to capture the dog, staying with the pup near the center divider to keep it safe from traffic.
Debbie mentioned that she wasn’t the only person who had noticed the dog, and traffic came to a standstill as drivers waited for the dog to be secured. Initially, the frightened dog tried to run away, but with the help of another motorist, Debbie was able to capture the pup and stay with it until the Michigan State Police and the Michigan Humane Detroit arrived to assist.
The dog appeared well-fed, well-groomed, and well-behaved, suggesting it likely escaped from its home or backyard. Unfortunately, the dog is not microchipped, making it more difficult to find its owners, but if everyone works together, there’s a chance for a happy reunion.
Many have called Debbie a hero, but the humble dog-loving woman, who also has her own dog, says she was simply “a human being.”
Thank you, Debbie. We believe you’re an angel too!
