Rescuing a dog is not easy. Most of the time, the dogs are traumatized by what other humans have done to them. So they are terrified when a human approaches them. They either run, hide, or try to fight back. And who could blame them? After all, they’ve been through a lot.

In the video below, you’ll see a rescuer approaching a stray dog. Her name is Janine Guido, and she’s the founder of Speranza Animal Rescue. She received a call about a stray dog who was sleeping in a woman’s porch. The poor dog was eating from a pile of trash when she got to the scene. And every time she goes near the dog, the dogs walks away from her. It seems that rescuing this dog would take quite some time. But she rescuer didn’t give up on her. She patiently tries to gain the trust of this homeless dog. Watch the video and see what happens next!

It took a while to gain the dog’s trust but it was worth it! When she started wagging her tail, I knew she was beginning to trust Janine. And then when she climb onto her lap, I couldn’t help but smile!
