Ginger has spent 1,456 days at Maine shelter: Looking for a home
Ginger has spent 1,456 days at a Paris, Maine shelter, and all she wants is a human of her own. Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills has been doing their best to help. Last week they posted Ginber’s photograph on Facebook donning the sign:
“I have been in the shelter for 1,456 days. Please adopt me.”
Four years ago, Ginger arrived as a stray, and she needs a very special home. She has issues with resource guarding and can not go to a home with small children. Yes, she is an amazing dog, but potential adopters are asked to check out what is needed before she can be considered as a perfect match. Since her adorable picture hit social media, many inquiries have come into the shelter. The ideal home would be with someone familiar with the breed – and either a single person or an older couple.
“Thank you everyone for all the shares on our girl, Ginger. She has made national news!! As of now she is still available for adoption. We have had so many inquiries!!! Please read her full bio before sending messages (as we are very overwhelmed at the moment) answers to many questions we are getting;
You need to meet Ginger before she can be adopted
We will be doing a home check
An application must be filled out
References will be checked
She cannot be placed in a home with children.
She cannot be placed in a home with other animals.
Thank you to all our supporters for sharing, and help make this possible to find Ginger her furever home.”
Ginger is seven-years-old, loves to chase balls, swims in her small pool on hot summer days and knows her commands. She loves going outside to run around in the yard and loves the personal attention when going for long walks.
